Data Protection and Privacy

BCS Jersey is registered with the Jersey Office of the Data Protection Registrar as a data user under the Data Protection (Jersey) Law, 2005.

BCS Jersey will store in a database the personal information that you provide to us when you register for BCS Jersey events. The information that you provide may be accessed, reviewed and used by BCS Jersey for the following purposes -



- administering the specific event that you want to attend,

- obtaining payment for the event where this is required (which may involve passing some details to a payment processing agency), and

- telling you about other events and researching your views on future BCS Jersey events (optional).

If you have not asked to be told about future events, we will retain the personal information that you provide during event registration for not more than three months. We will then delete it.

If you do give your consent, we will use your personal information to advise you of future BCS Jersey events and may also ask for your views on the content and format of about future BCS Jersey events from time to time. We will do this by adding your personal details to email distribution lists that are stored on systems used by BCS headquarters in the United Kingdom. When you tell us you wish to opt-out of these emails we will arrange for your personal details to be deleted from these email lists.

If you are already a BCS member we will use the personal details you have provided to BCS Headquarters to help with administration of BCS Jersey membership and organising events.

Any personal information received from you will be retained by us and not sold transferred or otherwise disclosed to any other third party, unless such disclosure is required by law or other court order, or for the purposes of obtaining events payment as described above.

This data protection and privacy policy statement relates to the information provided by you on this website. This information includes your registration details, any additional information you choose to submit and the information BCS Jersey gathers by tracking your movements across the website.
